Since the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative (the Belt and Road Initiative) was proposed, the Silk Road Fund, established by China with the commitment of USD40 billion, was officially put into operation at the end of 2014. In line with the principles of market orientation, meeting international standards and professional excellence, the Fund has conducted active explorations and practices while galvanizing all kinds of capital to participate in and support the development of the Belt and Road project over the past more than two years. Recently, Mr. Yang Zejun, Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Supervisors, received our exclusive interview.

 记者：“一带一路”倡议提出以来，为什么能得到国际上的广泛响应？作为我国为支持“一带一路”建设而出资设立的投资平台，丝路基金成立后对推进“一带一路”倡议做了哪些工作？

Reporter: Why has the Belt and Road Initiative won widespread response from the international community since it was proposed? What has the Silk Road Fund, an investment platform established by China to support the development of the Belt and Road project, done to advance the Belt and Road Initiative?

杨泽军：“一带一路”倡议的提出，不仅对我国全面深化改革、拓展全方位对外开放新格局具有重要意义，更是顺应了生产力发展的需要和全球化大趋势，体现了国际社会的共同意愿，为世界各国开展互利合作，实现更加开放、更可持续的发展催生了新动力。

Yang Zejun: The release of the Belt and Road Initiative is not only significant for China to deepen reform on all fronts and expand the new landscape of opening-up in all directions, but also conforms to the development need of productivity and the larger trend of globalization. In addition, it points to the common will of the international community, injecting new vigor and vitality for all countries to engage in mutually beneficial cooperation and realize more open and sustainable development.
