    Professional,highly
qualified multilingual talents – foreign and Chinese linguists

In order to ensure high quality of our translations, we adopt the team model of “in-house Chinese and English linguist team + contract linguists in minority languages” to provide translation services as required. All linguists applying to join our team, both foreign and Chinese, must meet the following two basis requirements: Master’s level academic qualifications and the minimum of five-year practical experience (or a Bachelor’s degree and the minimum of ten-year practical experience).
In today’s translation industry, translation firms boasting their in-house linguists are in the minority, let alone those possessing in-house linguists in minority languages. Most translation firms tend to look for translators only after there is a client, which, however, would put the client at great risk.
For translations between Chinese and English which make up the bulk of our business, we only use our in-house linguists. We have set up stringent standards for recruitment, training, management and other links in building an in-house linguist team. For all new entrants into our team, we would spend much cost on training each of them into a truly excellent translator devoted to the work by heart. Meanwhile we have been actively preparing to establish our in-house linguist team in minority languages while continuously expanding the existing Chinese and English team. All these efforts are designed to help us deliver premium translation services in the long term.

    Highly experienced project management personnel
It took us 16 years to train up our project management team to the level of expertise they have now. Our project managers are not only meticulous, but also capable of dealing with a variety of emergencies and complex translation tasks, with an effective management of all sorts of translation projects.
In addition, we also own professionals excelling in post-translation formatting and design who provide technical support in terms of adjusting the format and producing pictures required in the translated text, among other details. In this way, we try to submit both high-quality and “good-looking” translations to our clients.
Well-trained excellent linguists, experienced project managers and professional post-translation formatting personnel are all indispensable for every successful translation project.

    PracTrans – Soft Power

These are the principles and facts behind our success:

    Superlative Integrity
All associates at PracTrans undertake to observe the philosophy that for the tasks within our capacity, we will spare no pains to ensure no errors; regarding any task that goes beyond our competence, we will, by no means, shy away from our weakness; rather, we will seek assistance both internally and externally to see the problems are properly solved at last.

    People First
In our linguist team, “translation quality” underpins all management ideas. Whatever is helpful to improve the translation quality will be followed. “Quality” comes as the “boss” of all PracTrans members, and every staff is only responsible for “quality”.

    Being Faithful to Our Clients
We attach greater importance to every translation assignment than our clients from keeping confidentiality for clients, helping clients identify problems in the source files to seeking advice from clients (if necessary). We understand that a great concern over translation quality represents the supreme respect towards our clients.

    16-year Hands-on Translating Practices
We do translating, not a deal! Since our inception in January 2003, the linguist team at PracTrans has been committed to a lifetime pursuit, i.e., keeping away from fickleness, accumulating steadily and becoming dignified “craftsmen” in translating field.

    Innovation Inside-out
Partnership Structure; In-house linguist team; One-to-one Training; Regular Translation Workshop; Native Language Level Translation; Target Proofreading; Source Text-based Charging Standards; Client acquisition backed by an increasingly wider talent pool…
Our continuous development is underpinned by innovations in every aspect, be it management innovation, process innovation, or business innovation, which are also what the Management of the linguist team highly values in daily work.

We are engaged in practical businesses with backing from a group of practical talents, with “practical study” at the core of our unique competitiveness. As we understand, the meaning of “practical” falls into four aspects:

    Pragmatism and Integrity
Through years of experience in professional translation, we have realized that professional translators, even experienced ones, would inevitably encounter problems that go beyond their ability and cannot be solved in a proper way. Nonetheless, all members in the PracTrans linguist team promise: we will never fail in what we are able to do, and we will never lose sight of what is beyond our ability.

    Sense of responsibility
A strong sense of responsibility is a must-have for translators. Even for those of the same ability, the quality of their translations will doubtless vary if they are differentiated by how much they are responsible for their duty. This is why we have been paying attention to adjusting the mindset of translators at work so that they can throw themselves into work in the best way they can, with as few translation mistakes as possible.

    Self-improvement
A characteristic of today’s translation work is that expertise in a great variety of subjects is involved in what is to be translated, of which new knowledge makes up a growing share. However, a single educational background tends to confine translators to knowledge of a particular industry at the beginning of their career. Moreover, even such industry is under constant development. In this case, translators need to keep up with the times, constantly update the mix of their knowledge and enhance their knowledge base for unexpected needs.

    Harmonious Cooperation
We strive to maximize working efficiency through harmonious cooperative relations, thus bringing all-win results for our clients, employees and the company, and further creating value for the society.
