清洁电力项目的总目标是，帮助中国电力行业走上清洁、低碳的发展轨道，为实现在未来35年将地球升温控制在2摄氏度以内的全球战略做出贡献。为实现2摄氏度愿景，我们将努力帮助中国在2025年之前实现电力行业碳排放达到峰值，以及在2050年之前实现80%以上的电力来自可再生能源发电。

Roughly half of the coal consumed in China is burnt in the power sector, producing 72% of the country’s electricity (2013) and making it the largest single source of carbon emissions in China. The power sector has been growing rapidly. Wind and solar are big part of this growth. China is now a global leader in renewable energy, accounting for more installed onshore wind and solar PV capacity than any country in the world. But coal-fired capacity also continues to grow rapidly.

中国近一半的煤炭消费来自电力行业，煤电占全国总发电量的72%（2013年数据），是中国最大的碳排放源。中国的发电装机一直保持快速增长，风电和太阳能发电已经成为新增装机容量的重要组成部分。中国目前是世界可再生能源发电领域的领军者，陆上风电和太阳能光伏发电的装机容量超过了世界上任何一个国家。但中国的燃煤发电装机容量也在持续快速增长。

Clean Power Program priorities focus on three broad major categories to achieve the goals above:  1) to reduce coal consumption in power sector through power system efficiency improvement and use of clean energy sources. 2) to reform the power sector to favor clean energy resources and 3) to increase Investment in renewables and end-use efficiency.

为实现上述目标，清洁电力项目将工作重点放在以下三方面：1）通过提高电力系统效率和使用清洁能源，减少电力行业的煤炭消费；2）支持电力改革，建立有利于清洁能源发展的体制框架；以及3）推动社会增加对可再生能源和终端能效的投资。
