◆Polish the surface of steel members with a mechanical grinding machine. As for marginal parts of the facility, fit on a cup wheel or wire brush to an angle grinder to process it. Corners, edges and weld zones of the steel should be very smooth after the grinding, and a derusting grade of ST3 should be applied to this effect.

◆钢材表面应无可见的油脂、污垢、氧化皮、铁锈和油漆涂层等附着物，任何残留的痕迹应仅是点状或条纹状的轻微色斑。除锈后出现麻点或麻坑属正常现象，钢材显露部分的表面应具有金属光泽。
◆There should be no visible attachments – grease, dirt, scale cinder, rust or paint coating – on the surface of the steel. Acceptable traces of residual should only be slight punctate or stripy spots. Hard spots or pockmarks are normal after the rust removal, while there should be a metallic lustre wherever steel is exposed.

◆用抹布、棉纱或压缩空气清理除锈后的设施，保持表面的清洁。除锈处理后，必须尽快涂刷头道底漆，不允许超过4小时，更不允许过夜。除锈后、进行下一道工序前，如遇下雨或其他造成基体钢材表面潮湿的情况时，要待环境达到施工条件后，用干燥的压缩空气吹干表面水分后施工，如须重新除锈，不可降低除锈要求。
◆Use a cleaning cloth, cotton yarn or compressed air to clean the facility after the rust removal. The first layer of primer must be applied as soon as possible – in less than 4 hours – after the rust removal, and mush less a night should the machine be left unprocessed. Under the circumstance that the surface of the facility is wet because of rain or other matters, the subsequent process should only begin after a dehumidification with dry compressed air when the environment becomes suitable for processing. If a second rust removal was needed, the derusting standards should be kept.

◆底漆、中间漆、面漆各层油漆均可分为两道涂刷，保证涂刷油漆的质量和厚度。每层油漆涂刷后进行现场验收，验收合格后方可进行下一层油漆的涂刷。
◆ Brushing of the primer, intermediate coat and finishing coat can be done twice. The quality and thickness of the painting must be guaranteed. Brushing of the next layer of paint can only begin after the last layer is verified as up to standard.
