On January 6, 2016, the First Plenary Session of the Tenth Arbitration Law Professional Committee of Beijing Lawyers Association (BLA) was grandly held in the third-floor meeting room of BLA’s office building. Chaired by Tian Ruihua, deputy director of the Arbitration Law Professional Committee, the session also witnessed the attendance of XXX, senior partner of our firm and vice president of BLA. At the session, lawyer XXX announced the official establishment of the Tenth Arbitration Law Professional Committee of BLA. As to the training part, lawyer XXX made a keynote speech, themed as Chief Arbitrator’s Advices on Commercial Arbitration Agency by Lawyers, to share his experience in trying arbitration cases as an arbitrator working for CIETAC (China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission) and BAC (Beijing Arbitration Commission) over the years. Particularly, he highlighted the service nature of commercial arbitration, which is quite different from that of court proceedings. Meanwhile, he also gave some notable tips on the legal theories and agency techniques for the commercial arbitration case agency by lawyers from the perspective of judge.

会议中，仲裁法专业委员会主任张鹏律师就本届专委会工作规划和设想作了主题报告，副主任张亚梅带领大家学习了专业委员会工作规则，副主任李云丽及杨学芳、孙红新等分别发言。培训环节，北京仲裁委员会林志炜秘书长就《律师与仲裁员共同体》作了主题发言，仲裁法专业委员会高级顾问康明律师作了《对商事仲裁服务性质再认识》的主题演讲。

 During the session, Lawyer Zhang Peng, director of Arbitration Law Professional Committee delivered a keynote speech, focusing on the work program and vision of the current committee. Deputy director Zhang Yamei introduced the work procedure of the committee. Besides, deputy director Li Yunli, Yang Xuefang, Sun Hongxin and other lawyers alsoaddressed the meeting. As for the training, Secretary-general of BLA Lin Zhiwei gave a speech on Lawyer and Arbitration Community, while the Committee’s senior advisor Kang Ming delivered a lecture entitled as Rediscover the Service Nature of Commercial Arbitration.
